It was early morning by the time I left. Lillith hadn't given me a second of escape time until she was already fast asleep, and even then her hold on me made it difficult to leave. Following his trail again once back on the streets was easier, having been around her, but the red haze still filled my sight, every breath thicker than the last with the scent of sleeping humans in their homes. Leaving the house, I sighed as it left my view. I wanted to stay longer, but things were becoming more and more active again and I was needed, and there was nothing I could do to change that just yet.
